Peaches Summer Birthday Card

Peaches and rainbows!

What a wonderful combination for a summer birthday card.

This card measures 5" by 6.5".

I chose the digital stamp "Peaches" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers and Promarkers.

I used a circle die to cut out the image and made a frame out of turquoise cardstock. I embellished the image with die-cut flowers using the "Funky Foliage" dies from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. I tried to match the color of the flowers to the color of the little girl's outfit.

The background patterned paper is "Rainbows" from Recollections.
I finished the card with a simple "happy birthday" sentiment.

Altered Art Halloween Cards from Digital Collage Sheet

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This year I made the following nine Halloween greeting cards using the Digital Collage Sheet, Halloween Witches, ATC, ACEO sized, 2.5 X 3.5, Halloween Children (Sheet no. H39) Instant Download from Lisa's Altered Art Shop on Etsy.

I printed the collage sheet on a piece of matte photo paper that measured 8.5" by 11". I got nine unique pieces of art that each measured 2.5" by 3.5".

I cut out the nine individual cards and covered each one with a thin film of Tim Holtz Distress Glaze. I wiped the glaze off with a piece of paper towel. This product left a beautiful satin finish on the surface of the cards.

I used cardstock from the Tim Holtz Halloween pack (2017) and matching Tim Holtz washi tape. The sentiments are from the Tim Holtz Clippings collection.

I used kraft cardstock for the base that measured 4.25" by 5.5".

You may CLICK on each individual photo to enlarge.

I cut it out and chomped the corners with a Crop-a-Dile Corner Chomper (Clearance item from Hobby Lobby). I used a Spellbinders die to cut the black frame and used double-sided tape to attach the image to the frame.
I chose the sentiment "Love Endures" from the Digital Phrase Collage Sheet #9

This is how I made the card;

The red background paper is from The Paper Studio Watercolor Rainbow paper pad (Hobby Lobby). I used a paper punch to punch a scalloped edge along the top of the paper.

Khloe's Handmade Birthday Card

My granddaughter Khloe celebrated her 4th birthday this week. I made this card for her.

This is how I made the card;

I started with a blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6.5".

The pink background paper is from a Martha Stewart "Watercolor Sheets" Paper Pad.

I die cut some stars (Sizzix star die 38-0154) from a blue sheet in the Martha Steward paper pad. I added some shimmer to the stars with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle (Crystal Clear) glitter pen.

I chose the digital stamp "Caitlin" from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored the image with Copic sketch markers. I lightly sponged around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I mounted the image on a piece of kraft cardstock.

I used the "Happy Birthday ER1007" rubber stamp from Stampabilities for the sentiment.

The gift tag on the bag was blank, so I printed "Khloe" on the tag.

I found a number "4" sticker in my stash and stuck it on the star in the lower right corner. I embellished the card with pink/white baker's twine.

Father's Day Card for The Beefather

I want to wish all fathers a very Happy Father's Day!

I made this card for my husband. He is a wonderful father, grandfather and husband. He is also a great "beefather" to our new hive of honeybees. Bee keeping is a fascinating hobby and an excellent way to help the environment.

This is how I made this card:
I started with a blank kraft cardstock card that measures 5" by 6.5".

The background paper is "Honey Comb Hexagonal Digital Papers" from PrettyGrafikDesign on Etsy.

The honey bee paper is "Honey Bee Digital Paper" from Kitty Papers on Etsy.

I chose the digital stamp "Baby Fairy Bee" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers. I sponged some Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Old Paper) around the edges of the image.

I attached the sentiment above the fairy image and finished the card by tying a piece of nubby green yarn around it.

Stock's Up Father's Day Card

Father's day is right around the corner. This is an opportunity to express love and gratitude to our father, husband, grandfather and other important men in our lives.

This is how I made this card;

I started with a blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6.5".

For the background papers, I attached a piece of patterned paper from the "Newsworthy" Paper Pack by The Paper Studio (@2013) to the blank card. I then printed out "Father's Day Papers" from Mo's Digital Pencil on white cardstock. I lightly sponged the edges of the paper with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. I then mounted the digital paper on a piece of kraft cardstock.

I chose the digital image "Stock's Up (boy)" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and lightly sponged the edges with distress ink. I used Ranger's Glossy Accents on the glasses to add dimension. I colored the image with Copic Sketch markers. I rounded the corners and mounted the image on a piece of kraft cardstock.

The background patterned paper is from the Que Sera Sera paper pack by K and Company.

Feed the Soul Handmade Card

"Bread feeds the body, but flowers feed the soul."

I chose this "Feed the Soul" digital stamp for my Mother's Day cards this year.

This is how I made the card:

Card base: A blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6.5".

I colored the digital image with Copic Sketch markers. I trimmed the image and mounted it on a piece of black cardstock.

The background patterned paper is from the Flower Digital Paper pack from Prettygrafikdesign on Etsy. I printed the paper on my HP Envy Photo printer using the HP Instant Ink program. The instant ink program is great for crafters. The printer automatically orders new cartridges when you are running low on ink.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the floral embellishment. I used a dot of Ranger's Enamel Accents for the center of the flower.

Handmade STEM Card for Girls

I plan to send this card to my granddaughter who will be celebrating her 15th birthday in a couple of weeks.

I think this is an excellent design to celebrate young ladies who are pursuing the subjects of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

I am using this as a birthday card but it could be used for any occasion.

This is how I made the card:
I started with a blank 5" by 6.5" card made from kraft cardstock.

The background cardstock is from the Tim Holtz Wallflower paper pack. I also used this paper for the flowers and vines.

I used the digital image "Fairy Harrietta" from Mo's Digital Pencil. This image features a girl wearing a t-shirt with the symbol of an atom on it. She is waving a magic wand and has a lovely smile on her face. The following quotation is displayed at the top of the card;
Magic's just science that we don't understand yet. ~ Arthur C. Clarke
I colored the image with Copic sketch markers. I used some red sequins to embellish the card.

I used the Sizzix die "Frame & Sculpted Flower" to make the paper flowers.
I used Spellbinders dies "Romantic Vines" to make the leaves and vines.

Handmade Easter Cards #NYPLRemix

The New York Public Library Digital Collections feature prints, photographs, maps, manuscripts, streaming video and more. Many of the items are in the public domain and are free to use in art and crafts projects. I chose this 1895 menu cover from the Windsor Hotel for my Easter cards this year.

Rare Book Division, The New York Public Library. "EASTER BREAKFAST [held by] WINDSOR HOTEL [at] "NEW YORK, NY" (HOTEL)" The New York Public Library Digital Collections. 1895.

I cropped the image with PicMonkey photo editing software. I enhanced the colors and added the text "Happy Easter" to the print. I sized the image to print at 5" by 7". I then printed it on white cardstock and attached it to the front of a blank card.

I printed the image on a piece of brown kraft cardstock and used a rubber stamp to print the sentiment "Happy Easter" on the front.
I used a HP Envy Photo 7800 Printer to print the images. I subscribe to the HP Instant Ink program so I can print up to 300 pages a month for $9.99 each month. This program works great for printing art and crafts projects.

I wish you a very blessed Easter. Thank you for visiting my blog. Please share your thoughts in the Comments Section below.

Handmade "Give Thanks" Thanksgiving Card

I wish everyone a very blessed and safe Thanksgving.

I made the following handmade Thanksgiving cards for the Hand to Heart Ministry in my Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas.

I used the "Amity" digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil to make these cards. The sentiments "Give Thanks" and "Happy Thanksgiving" come with this image. I used Prismacolor Premiere colored pencils with Gamsol solvent to color the images. I enjoyed experimenting with the background shading using the colored pencils and Gamsol. The top card has a darker background, the middle card has a lighter background and the bottom card does not have any colored background. Please click on the pictures for more detailed views.

I chose three different kinds of patterned paper from my stash for the background and mounted the paper/colored image on a blank kraft card that measured 5" by 6 1/2".

I embellished the cards by tying a piece of ribbon along the sides.

Handmade Anniversary Card with Tim Holtz Paper Dolls

I made this handmade anniversary card featuring Tim Holtz Paper Dolls.

The base is a blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6 1/2".

I used double-sided patterned paper from the Tim Holtz Wallflower paper pad.

I die-cut the word "Love" and the curvy base for the paper dolls from the reverse side of the floral patterned paper.

I chose a vintage bride and groom from the Idea-ology 107 piece Tim Holtz Paper Dolls pack.

I used the sentiment "Happy Together" from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Quotations Metallic Stickers pack. I placed the sticker on top of the "Love" die-cut for some added dimension.

I finished the card with a piece of aqua linen yarn.

HOT! Handmade Greeting Card

Summer is winding down but it is still HOT in Texas. I have decided to keep cool by staying indoors and making some handmade cards.

I made this card for my granddaughter.
The base is a 5" by 6 1/2" blank kraft greeting card.

I chose the digital stamp Daniella from Mo's Digital Pencil to feature on this card. I printed it on kraft cardstock and colored it with Prismacolor colored pencils and Laneco gel pens.

The background is from K and Company's Que Sera Sera Designer Paper Pack. I used unbranded dies for the stitched look around the edges.

I used some Sizzix letter dies to make the matching letters for the word HOT!
