Let Heaven and Nature Sing

Each year I plan to make my Christmas cards before the holiday rush. I decided to celebrate "Christmas in July" with my first Christmas card of 2019.

The base of this card is a blank green cardstock card that measures 5" by 6.5" (Recollections from Michaels).

I chose the digital stamp/sentiment Bird Tree from Mo's Digital Pencil. I used Canva to merge the image and sentiment. I added the hill and two small trees from the Little House Elements that Maurie Manning gave her Patreon subscribers. I printed the design on white cardstock with my HP Photo Printer and Instant Ink.

I watercolored the birds on the tree with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I added shadows around the tree and on the ground with Copic Sketch markers.

I chose a clean and simple card design because I wanted to emphasize the sentiment on the card...Joy to the World, the Lord is Come

I will enter this card in the following challenges;

Handmade Dandelions Birthday Card

st
I made this card featuring a sweet little girl holding a bouquet of dandelions.

In the words of A.A. Milne..."Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them."

The base of this card is a blank Strathmore card that measures 5" by 7".

I chose the digital stamp "Dandelions!" to feature on this card. This image was designed by Maurie Manning and was pre-released to the members of her Patreon supporters. It will soon be available in her online store - Mo's Digital Pencil.

I printed the image on white cardstock with my HP Photo Printer and Instant Ink. I hand-colored the image with Copic Sketch markers and Winsor & Newton Promarkers/Brush markers. I love to mix and match my alcohol markers.

I used a pierced circle die to cut out the image with my die cutting machine. I mounted the image on a black scalloped circle die cut. I used the die "Fence Picket & Gate by Stu Kilgour" (Thick Cuts) by Ellison Design for the fence along the bottom of the card.

The background paper is Dandelion Digital Paper by Maurie Manning. This paper was offered to her Patreon supporters.

I added a strip of scalloped cardstock along the top of the card that matches the fence. I attached the distressed sentiment "Happy Birthday" and some washi tape to the top of the card.

Sunflower Baby Birthday Card

The sunflower is a perfect background for this cheerful summer birthday card.

Click on the picture to enlarge.
This handmade card measure 5" by 7". The base is a blank cream-colored Strathmore greeting card. I was lucky enough to find an entire box of these blank cards at a thrift shop for a very reasonable price.

I chose the digital stamp Sunflower Baby from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock using my HP Photo Printer and Instant Ink.

I hand-colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers and Windsor & Newton Promarkers/Brush Markers. I used a round die with pierced edges to cut out the image with my die cutting machine.

I chose the digital background paper from the beautiful Sunflower Digital Junk Journal Kit by CalicoCollage on Etsy. I love to use digital collage papers for the background on my cards. The altered library card was included in this journal kit. I used a rub-on for the "Happy Birthday!" sentiment.

I completed the card with a pretty bow made of blue/white bakers twine.

Happy 4th of July!

I hope you have a great 4th of July celebrating our nation's birth.

This is one of the 4th of July cards I made this year.

The base of the card is a blank kraft cardstock card that measures 5" by 6.5".

I chose the digital stamp Sailor from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers and Promarkers. I cut it out with a Spellbinders die and layered it on top of 4 pieces of cardstock/patterned paper.

The paper with anchors and the red paper with white dots came from the Nautical Digital paper pack by Prettygrafikdesign on Etsy. I printed the paper on my HP Photo Printer. I never run out of ink using my HP Instant Ink subscription.

I chose the Tim Holtz sentiment "Let Freedom Ring".

Kitten and Tulips Mothers Day Card

Click on the image to enlarge it.
I chose this image of a kitten and a vase of tulips for my first Mothers Day card for 2019. This is card number one of five cards that I want to make for friends and loved ones.

This is how I made the card;

I started with a blank white cardstock card that measures 5" by 6 1/2".

The background is Digital Watercolor Yellow Tulips Seamless Paper Pack from Etsy. I printed the digital paper on white cardstock with my HP printer and HP Instant Ink. I never have to worry about running out of printer ink with the Instant Ink program.

I chose the digital stamp "Boo and Tulips" to feature on this card. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers and Promarkers. I printed the image a second time on yellow dotted cardstock and cut out the vase and glued it on the card (paper piecing).

I cropped the corners of the image and glued it onto a piece of grey cardstock. I completed the card by tying a piece of white ribbon around it.

A Rose Anniversary Card

I am wishing my daughter Cindy and her husband Scott a happy wedding anniversary today. I sent them this card to help celebrate their special day.

This is how I made the card:

I started with a blank kraft greeting card that measures 5" by 6 1/2".

The background design is a digital paper from "Love is Chic Printable Journal Kit" by Ephemera's Vintage Garden on Etsy. I used two different pages and die-cut the scalloped edge.

I printed the paper on cardstock using my  HP Envy Photo 7855 Printer and the HP Instant Ink Program. I love to print lovely digital paper in my printer and never have to worry about running out of ink. Click on my link for a FREE one month trial!

I chose the digital stamp "A Rose" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and used alcohol markers to color it (Copic sketch markers and Promarkers). I used a Spellbinders die to cut/emboss the image.

I used the sentiment "A special kind of love" from the Digital Collage Sheet Love and Valentine Words and Phrases from LisasAlteredArt on Etsy.

I completed the card with a bow made from pink linen ribbon/yarn.

Feed the Soul Handmade Card

"Bread feeds the body, but flowers feed the soul."

I chose this "Feed the Soul" digital stamp for my Mother's Day cards this year.

This is how I made the card:

Card base: A blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6.5".

I colored the digital image with Copic Sketch markers. I trimmed the image and mounted it on a piece of black cardstock.

The background patterned paper is from the Flower Digital Paper pack from Prettygrafikdesign on Etsy. I printed the paper on my HP Envy Photo printer using the HP Instant Ink program. The instant ink program is great for crafters. The printer automatically orders new cartridges when you are running low on ink.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the floral embellishment. I used a dot of Ranger's Enamel Accents for the center of the flower.

Handmade Easter Cards #NYPLRemix

The New York Public Library Digital Collections feature prints, photographs, maps, manuscripts, streaming video and more. Many of the items are in the public domain and are free to use in art and crafts projects. I chose this 1895 menu cover from the Windsor Hotel for my Easter cards this year.

Rare Book Division, The New York Public Library. "EASTER BREAKFAST [held by] WINDSOR HOTEL [at] "NEW YORK, NY" (HOTEL)" The New York Public Library Digital Collections. 1895.

I cropped the image with PicMonkey photo editing software. I enhanced the colors and added the text "Happy Easter" to the print. I sized the image to print at 5" by 7". I then printed it on white cardstock and attached it to the front of a blank card.

I printed the image on a piece of brown kraft cardstock and used a rubber stamp to print the sentiment "Happy Easter" on the front.
I used a HP Envy Photo 7800 Printer to print the images. I subscribe to the HP Instant Ink program so I can print up to 300 pages a month for $9.99 each month. This program works great for printing art and crafts projects.

I wish you a very blessed Easter. Thank you for visiting my blog. Please share your thoughts in the Comments Section below.
