Handmade Easter Cards #NYPLRemix

The New York Public Library Digital Collections feature prints, photographs, maps, manuscripts, streaming video and more. Many of the items are in the public domain and are free to use in art and crafts projects. I chose this 1895 menu cover from the Windsor Hotel for my Easter cards this year.

Rare Book Division, The New York Public Library. "EASTER BREAKFAST [held by] WINDSOR HOTEL [at] "NEW YORK, NY" (HOTEL)" The New York Public Library Digital Collections. 1895.

I cropped the image with PicMonkey photo editing software. I enhanced the colors and added the text "Happy Easter" to the print. I sized the image to print at 5" by 7". I then printed it on white cardstock and attached it to the front of a blank card.

I printed the image on a piece of brown kraft cardstock and used a rubber stamp to print the sentiment "Happy Easter" on the front.
I used a HP Envy Photo 7800 Printer to print the images. I subscribe to the HP Instant Ink program so I can print up to 300 pages a month for $9.99 each month. This program works great for printing art and crafts projects.

I wish you a very blessed Easter. Thank you for visiting my blog. Please share your thoughts in the Comments Section below.

Flower Jar Easter Card

Happy Spring!

Easter will be here soon and I have been making handmade cards to send my friends in the Hand to Heart Ministry at church.

I will enter this card in Mo's Challenge #261 - Anything Goes.

These are the supplies I used to make this card:

1. A blank 5" by 7" kraft greeting card.
2. Background cardstock "Collage Art Stack" from DCWV.
3. Digital stamp "Flower Jar" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils and a blending pen. I colored the water and table with Copic sketch markers. I cut out the image with a Spellbinders die.
4. I used my Dymo label maker to make the "Easter Blessings" sentiment at the top of the card.
5. I embellished the card with some faux pearl flowers and a distressed linen ribbon.

Baby Chick Handmade Easter Card

Rabbits soft and cuddly
Baby chickens, too.
Easter eggs for baskets
White and pink and blue.
Easter cards of greeting,
Music in the air,
Lilies just to tell us
It's Easter everywhere.

(Author Unknown)

I made this Easter card with the digital stamp "Easter Chickie" from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers and cut it out with a Spellbinders die. The background paper is "Eggcellent" from GCD Studios.

I embellished the card with two cloth roses and some punched green fronds.

I will enter this card in the Spring Coloring Challenge at Mo's Clubhouse Blog.

Handmade Baby With A Bunny Card

Easter is just a little over a week away. I made this cute baby with a bunny to use as an Easter card. I am entering this card in Mo's Digital Challenge #127 - "Bling It On" w/a Mo Image.

This is how I made the card;
(1.) I started with a pre-made pink cardstock card. I used a Cuddlebug embossing folder from the "Art Deco" set to dry emboss the front of the card.
(2.) I wrapped a piece of vintage lace around the inside edge of the card.
(3.) I punched three large scalloped circles from a piece of embossed Hei.di Grace Designs patterned paper.
(4.) I chose the digital stamp "Spit Happens" from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop. I colored the image with Copic sketch markers.

(5.) I added some "bling" to the card with some pale pink faux pearls and a pink ribbon bow.
