Handmade Prom Birthday Card

I made this card for my granddaughter's 18th birthday. It is hard to believe that she is all grown up. She will be attending her high school prom in a couple of weeks so I chose the digital stamp "Prom - Straight Hair Version" from Mo's Digital Pencil to feature on the front of the card.

I colored the image with Copic Sketch markers. The blue background paper and the embellishments were made from a gelliprint that I made with acrylic paint.

Handmade Pirate Girl Valentine Card

 Happy Valentine's Day! I hope this day of love and friendship brings you many lasting memories.

I made this valentine's card for my oldest granddaughter. I think it is a cute design for a teenager. Please click on the picture to enlarge it.

This card features the digital stamp/sentiment "Pirate Lass" from Mo's Digital Pencil.  

I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic sketch markers. The background paper is a digital Gelli print from SigitasCoffeeStains on Etsy.

I Need You Emo Goth Halloween Card

 

This sweet girl is holding a heart in her hands and thinking about someone special. Who is she thinking about? That is a mystery!

This handmade card features the digital stamp "Need You" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers. I then cut it out and attached it to a piece of "Abandoned" cardstock by Tim Holtz.  I used a Tim Holtz Halloween stencil and some distress ink to make the spider webs in the background.

The finished card measures 5" by 6.5".

Handmade STEM Card for Girls

I plan to send this card to my granddaughter who will be celebrating her 15th birthday in a couple of weeks.

I think this is an excellent design to celebrate young ladies who are pursuing the subjects of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). 

I am using this as a birthday card but it could be used for any occasion.

This is how I made the card:
I started with a blank 5" by 6.5" card made from kraft cardstock.

The background cardstock is from the Tim Holtz Wallflower paper pack. I also used this paper for the flowers and vines.

I used the digital image "Fairy Harrietta" from Mo's Digital Pencil. This image features a girl wearing a t-shirt with the symbol of an atom on it. She is waving a magic wand and has a lovely smile on her face. The following quotation is displayed at the top of the card;

Magic's just science that we don't understand yet. ~ Arthur C. Clarke

I colored the image with Copic sketch markers. I used some red sequins to embellish the card.

 I used the Sizzix die "Frame & Sculpted Flower" to make the paper flowers.
I used Spellbinders dies "Romantic Vines" to make the leaves and vines.

Teen Texting Valentine Card

Happy Valentine's Day to all my family and friends!

I have had so much fun making Valentine cards this year. I love the hearts and flowers that come with this season.

I made this card for Mo's Challenge #260 - Anything Goes. The only rule is that you have to use a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I used the following supplies to make this card;
1. A blank 5" by 7" blank kraft greeting card.
2. Background patterned paper - "Vintage Charm" from Ki Memories. I distressed the edges of the paper with my scissors. 
3. The digital stamp "Janny Texting" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I love the way this girl is sitting on a stack of books while texting on her phone!
4. Copic sketch markers.
5. A Spellbinder's die and Grand Calibur to cut shape around the image.
5. A sentiment from Tim Holtz's "Small Talk" collection.
6. A piece of distressed linen yarn to tie around the card.
7. Tiny pink glitter heart stickers.

A Summer To Remember

Ronnie, short for Veronica, is a rebellious teenage girl. She and her brother are sent to stay with their Dad for the summer in South Carolina.  Ronnie fights going and tries her best to stay in New York with her Mom and all of her friends. She has not spoken to her father since the divorce.  Her father shares the same love of music that she had as a child.  She was an up and coming star, but when her parents divorced she vowed to never play the piano again. Every time her father plays the piano it upsets her giving her more reason to push him away.

As the summer progresses, her father and little brother share the project of fixing the stained glass window for the church in town that was destroyed in a fire. Ronnie starts to run with the wrong crowd, but then she meets Will. Will is unlike anyone she’s ever known. As they get to know each other, they find that even though they are from different worlds, they may have just what the other needs.  

By the end of the summer, the small town living and beach air has helped to mend the tattered relationship between Ronnie and her Dad. The stained glass window is almost finished and Will is soon to return to school for the fall semester. Then she finds out that her parents had an ulterior motive in bringing them to South Carolina. Her world is about to be turned upside down.

My Thoughts

This was a wonderful story about the love between a father and his children as well as a story of first love. The two combined make for a must-read that is hard to set down. I read all 400+ pages of this book in one day! I highly recommend this book to teens and adults.
