Handmade Life is Gourd Halloween Card

Don't you love these happy jack-o-lanterns?

I didn't make very many cards for Halloween this year but had to use these cheerful "gourds" to spread some cheer.

This card features the pre-colored digital stamp/sentiment "Life is Gourd" designed by Maurie J. Manning of Mo's Digital Pencil. This image was an October pre-release for Ms. Manning's Patreon supporters.

I usually hand color my digital stamps but this pre-colored image is just perfect. It is also great to use when you need a card in a hurry.

I embellished the card with some decorative die-cut corners and faux pearls.

I will enter this card in the following challenge:

Thankful and Blessed Thanksgiving Card

Click on the image to enlarge.
This is one of the Thanksgiving cards I made this year. I feel extremely thankful and blessed - every day is a day to give thanks.

The base for this card is made of kraft cardstock and measures 5" by 7".

The background paper is from the Tim Holtz Wallflower 12" by 12" Paper Stash pad.

I chose the digital stamp "Prudence" from Mo's Digital Pencil to feature on this card. I printed the image on white cardstock and hand colored it with Copic Sketch markers and Promarkers. I die-cut the image with a rectangular die and mounted it on black cardstock.

The sentiment is from the "Thanksgiving Sentiments Printable Word Stickers" by GoneDigital on Etsy.

I embellished the card with a piece of vintage coffee-dyed yellow seam binding.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Handmade Thanksgiving Blessings Card

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it is time to count our many blessings and give thanks.  This is a Thanksgiving card that I designed to send to a dear  lady friend as part of the Hand to Heart Greeting Card Ministry at my church.

I will enter this card in Mo's Challenge #241 - "Thank You".

Here is how I made the card;
I started with a blank 5" by 7" kraft cardstock card.
I found a piece of patterned paper with nice autumn colors in my stash for the background.
I chose the digital stamp "Pumpkins" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers. I used a Spellbinders Fleur-de-lis die to cut around the colored pumpkins.
I cut a piece of dark green cardstock with a scalloped Spellbinders die and layered it with a heart-shaped doily.
I cut a small round tag out of kraft cardstock with a Spellbinders die. I used a rubber stamp for the "Thanksgiving Blessings" sentiment. I attached the tag with a decorative green brad.

Thank you for taking a look at my card. Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Halloween Interactive Video

It is that time of year. Kids love Halloween and all the fun that goes with it.

We recently visited Oil Ranch in Hockley, Texas. Their Halloween decorations have turned the ranch into a home for pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns and scarecrows.

I made a video of the festive sights and then added a map, videos, an article and songs with Thinglink's interactive tags.

Enjoy the video and have a Happy Halloween!

Autumn Fun Challenge

Today I made a thank-you card that features a group of autumn pumpkins. I will enter this card in Mo's Challenge #157 ~ Autumn Fun. This is a clean and simple card that features a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.

This is how I made the card;
(1.) I started with a blank Strathmore Drawing Card that measures 5" by 7".
(2.) I used the "Thank You" Cuddlebug folder to dry emboss the pale orange cardstock with words of gratitude.
(3.) I wrapped a piece of Harvest Crafts ribbon (from Hobby Lobby) around the embossed cardstock and fastened it with glue dots. I then used glue dots to attach the background to the card.
(4.) I printed the digital image "Pumpkins" on a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper. I colored the image with Copic sketch markers and highlighted the pumpkins with a white Prismacolor pencil.
(5.) I used the Nestabilities Large Deckled Rectangles die to cut out the pumpkins and emboss around the edges.
(6.) I attached the pumpkin image to the background with foam squares.

Make A Halloween Card

It is time to start planning for the holidays. The next three months will fly by and Halloween is just four weeks from now.

I made this card for "Mo's Challenge #155 - Anything Goes..." The only rule this week is to use an image from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.

This is how I made the card:
(1.) I started with a blank black card that measures 5" by 6 1/2".
(2.) I took a piece of brown ribbon that features shiny fall leaves and stretched it across the top of the card. I wrapped it all the way around the back and front of the card and secured it with a glue dot on the back.
(3.) I chose this pumpkin die cut from the "Fall Harvest" pack by K & Company.
(4.) I used the digital stamp "Fall Kitten" from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop. I colored the image with Copic Sketch markers and cut it out.
(5.) I used a Martha Stewart bat sticker that says "Trick or Treat" at the top of the card.
(6.) I made the fence with Martha Stewart's "Scary Fence" edge punch. I used another die cut from the "Fall Harvest" set for the oak leaf.

Pumpkins Handmade Greeting Card

After a long hot summer, it is wonderful to feel a touch of Autumn in the air. The theme for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #105 is "Fave Mo's Image and a Sentiment."
The cool weather inspired me to make a greeting card with an Autumn theme.
This is how I made the card:
(1.) I used a pre-made card for the base. It is cream-colored with light "speckles" and measures 5" by 7".
(2.) I used patterned cardstock from a Martha Stewart Crafts Autumn/Halloween Mat Pad for the background.
(3.) I embellished the card with a piece of vintage orange ribbon (1" wide).
(4.) I used the digital image "Pumpkins" from Mo's Digital Pencil Store. I colored the image with Copics Sketch markers.
(5.) I stamped the following sentiment on the lower portion of the card, "As for me and my HOUSE, We will SERVE the LORD."  Joshua 24:15

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my handmade greeting card.
