I Like You (A LOT) Handmade Card

I like you (A LOT)
The girl on the front of this card reminds me of my youngest granddaughter, Khloe. This is a card that could be used for special occasions or just to let a special person know that you care.
Please click on the picture below to enlarge it.

 This handmade card measures 5" by 6.5".

I used the digital image/sentiment "I Like You" designed by Maurie J. Manning of Mo's Digital Pencil. This image was a pre-release freebie to Ms. Manning's Patreon supporters in January, 2021.

I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers. I mounted the image on black cardstock. The background paper is a Gelli print that I made with Distress Oxide inks and a stencil.

I embellished the card with two hearts and a butterfly die cut.

You Are the Bee's Knees Collage Card

Click on image to enlarge.
"You are the bee's knees."

I wasn't sure about the meaning of this expression so I looked it up;

If something is said to be the bee's knees it is excellent - the highest quality.

Since my husband is a beekeeper, I decided to make a bee's knees greeting card.

I started with a blank Strathmore card that measures 5" by 7".

The background cardstock is from the Abandoned Paper Stash pad by Tim Holtz.

The collage elements are from the following digital junk journal kits;

The Bees Knees Digital Junk Journal Kit
By AWhimsicalAdventure on Etsy

Vintage Queen Bee Printable Journal Kit
By EphemerasGarden on Etsy

I printed the digital papers and elements on my HP Photo Printer. I use the HP Instant Ink program so I never run out of printer ink.

I featured the digital stamp "Bee Mine" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I hand-colored the image with Copic Sketch markers and Winsor and Newton Promarkers/Brush markers. I cut out the image, chomped the corners and attached it to a piece of black cardstock. I then attached it to the front of the card.

I will enter this card in the following challenge;

Life is Like a Balloon Card

Click on the image to enlarge.
"Life is like a balloon...if you never let yourself go, you will never know how far you can rise."

Isn't this an uplifting quotation? It is perfect for birthdays, graduations and other occasions where encouragement is appropriate.

The base of this card is a light pink blank Recollections card (Michaels) that measures 5" by 6.5".

The background paper is from the Que Sera Sera paper pad by K and Company.

I chose the digital stamp/sentiment "Life is like a balloon" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I used Microsoft Word software to merge and resize the images and sentiment. This was a little tricky, but I think it turned out OK. If I make another card with this image, I might make the girl a little larger.

I hand-colored the images with Copic Sketch markers and Winsor and Newton Promarkers/Brush markers. I cut/embossed the image with my die cutting machine and mounted it on a piece of dark pink patterned paper. I then attached it to the card.

I embellished the card with a balloon die cut from Recollections Signature Glitter Paper and attached it in the upper right corner of the card. I made a paper flower and attached it to the lower left side of the card. The balloon and flower dies are by Sizzix (thrift shop finds).

Thinking of You Sympathy Card

Click on image to enlarge.
I always struggle when it comes to making sympathy cards. Yesterday I tried a new design that I am very pleased with.

The base of this card is a blank light blue Recollections (from Michaels) card. It measures 5" by 6.5".

I chose the new digital stamp "Pussywillows" from Mo's Digital Pencil. The "Thinking of you" sentiment comes with the image. I love the simple beauty and elegance of this image. It is perfect for a sympathy card.

I used Canva to merge the sentiment and image. I printed the image on white cardstock with my HP Photo Printer and Instant Ink.

I hand-colored the image with Copic Sketch markers and Winsor & Newton Promarkers/Brush makers. I have a large collection of alcohol markers and like to mix and match them.

I cut/embossed the image with a rectangular die and my die cutting machine. I attached a piece of black cardstock to the back to make it stand out from the background.

I chose a piece of cardstock from the Tim Holtz Wallflower Paper Stash for the background.

Handmade Nurse Get Well Card

Click on image to enlarge.
I made this colorful get-well card for a special person in my life who will be having surgery tomorrow. I hope it puts a smile on her face and lets her know she is in our thoughts and prayers.

The base for this card is a blank Strathmore card that measures 5" by 7".

I chose the digital stamp "Nurse" from Mo's Digital Pencil to feature on the front of the card. I printed the image on white cardstock and hand-colored it with Copic Sketcher markers and Winsor & Newton Promarkers/Brush markers. I love to mix and match my alcohol markers.

I used digital paper from A Happy Place II by Ephemeras Garden on Etsy for my background. I love the bright colors and collage elements in this design. I printed the digital paper on matte photo paper using my HP photo printer and Instant Ink. I have a large collection of patterned papers in my stash, but I really like the vibrancy of digital paper.

Handmade Birthday Girl Card

Click on image to enlarge.
July is a wonderful time to celebrate a birthday! I made this card and it has already been delivered to a special birthday girl.

I chose the digital stamp/sentiment "Birthday Girl" from Mo's Digital Pencil to feature on this card.

I printed the image and sentiment on white cardstock using my HP Photo Printer and Instant Ink.

I hand-colored the image with Copic Sketch markers and Winsor & Newton Promarkers/Brush markers. I love to mix and match my alcohol markers. I used a gold gel pen to color the crown and fill in the center of the flowers.

I cut out the image using a rectangular die with my die cutting machine. I framed the image with a piece of black cardstock. I used a die-cut corner embellishment in the lower right corner of the image.

I chose Glam Glitter Polka (The Paper Studio) for the background paper. I was very happy to find a pack of this paper on clearance at Hobby Lobby. The paper is very glittery but has a smooth surface, so it is easy to glue other paper to it.

I made a strip of scalloped white cardstock and put a strip of black cardstock down the center. I attached this to the center of the card. I finished the card with a colorful stitched banner from my stash.

I chose the digital stamp Sunflower Baby from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock using my HP Photo Printer and Instant Ink.

I hand-colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers and Windsor & Newton Promarkers/Brush Markers. I used a round die with pierced edges to cut out the image with my die cutting machine.

I chose the digital background paper from the beautiful Sunflower Digital Junk Journal Kit by CalicoCollage on Etsy. I love to use digital collage papers for the background on my cards. The altered library card was included in this journal kit. I used a rub-on for the "Happy Birthday!" sentiment.

Love Endures Sympathy Card

Click on the image to enlarge.
I made this sympathy card for a friend who lost a beloved family member.
I truly believe that love never dies...it endures forever.

This is how I made the card;
I started with a blank kraft cardstock card that measures 5" by 6.5".

The background paper is from the Tim Holtz Wallflower Paper Stash.

I used the digital stamp "Flower Jar" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch Markers and Promarkers. I cut it out and chomped the corners with a Crop-a-Dile Corner Chomper (Clearance item from Hobby Lobby). I used a Spellbinders die to cut the black frame and used double-sided tape to attach the image to the frame.
I chose the sentiment "Love Endures" from the Digital Phrase Collage Sheet #9
from Lisa's Altered Art on Etsy. I die cut the black frame and attached the sentiment to the frame with glue dots.

Handmade Make a Wish Birthday Card

Click on the image to enlarge it.
As dandelions turn to seed, children everywhere rush to pick them, so they can close their eyes, make a wish, and blow seeds into the air.

This is how I made the card;

I started with a blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6.5".

The red background paper is from The Paper Studio Watercolor Rainbow paper pad (Hobby Lobby). I used a paper punch to punch a scalloped edge along the top of the paper.

I chose the digital stamp "Make a Wish" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers. I used Pebbles chalks to add the blue background. I chose the sentiment sticker "make a wish" from the "Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions" pack.

I cut out the image with a pierced circle die and then cut a black pierced circle a little larger. I attached the circles to the card with double-sided tape.

I used the Spellbinders dies "Romantic Vines" to cut the leaves and added a Prima flower with a faux pearl center.

Khloe's Handmade Birthday Card

Click on image to enlarge.
My granddaughter Khloe celebrated her 4th birthday this week. I made this card for her.

This is how I made the card;

I started with a blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6.5".

The pink background paper is from a Martha Stewart "Watercolor Sheets" Paper Pad.

I die cut some stars (Sizzix star die 38-0154) from a blue sheet in the Martha Steward paper pad. I added some shimmer to the stars with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle (Crystal Clear) glitter pen.

I chose the digital stamp "Caitlin" from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored the image with Copic sketch markers. I lightly sponged around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I mounted the image on a piece of kraft cardstock.

I used the "Happy Birthday ER1007" rubber stamp from Stampabilities for the sentiment.

The gift tag on the bag was blank, so I printed "Khloe" on the tag.

I found a number "4" sticker in my stash and stuck it on the star in the lower right corner. I embellished the card with pink/white baker's twine.

Click on image to enlarge.
I want to wish all fathers a very Happy Father's Day!

The background paper is "Honey Comb Hexagonal Digital Papers" from PrettyGrafikDesign on Etsy.

The honey bee paper is "Honey Bee Digital Paper" from Kitty Papers on Etsy.

Stock's Up Father's Day Card

Click on image to enlarge.
Father's day is right around the corner. This is an opportunity to express love and gratitude to our father, husband, grandfather and other important men in our lives.

This is how I made this card;

I started with a blank kraft card that measures 5" by 6.5".

For the background papers, I attached a piece of patterned paper from the "Newsworthy" Paper Pack by The Paper Studio (@2013) to the blank card. I then printed out "Father's Day Papers" from Mo's Digital Pencil on white cardstock. I lightly sponged the edges of the paper with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. I then mounted the digital paper on a piece of kraft cardstock.

I chose the digital image "Stock's Up (boy)" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and lightly sponged the edges with distress ink. I used Ranger's Glossy Accents on the glasses to add dimension. I colored the image with Copic Sketch markers. I rounded the corners and mounted the image on a piece of kraft cardstock.
