Peaches Summer Birthday Card

Click on picture to enlarge
Peaches and rainbows!

What a wonderful combination for a summer birthday card.

This card measures 5" by 6.5".

I chose the digital stamp "Peaches" from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers and Promarkers.

I used a circle die to cut out the image and made a frame out of turquoise cardstock. I embellished the image with die-cut flowers using the "Funky Foliage" dies from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. I tried to match the color of the flowers to the color of the little girl's outfit.

The background patterned paper is "Rainbows" from Recollections.
I finished the card with a simple "happy birthday" sentiment.

I will enter this card in the following challenges;

Mo's "Anything Goes" Challenge

I want to wish my Aunt Dorothy Nieman a very HAPPY 91st BIRTHDAY!!! I will be getting this card in the mail ASAP so that she will receive it on August 13th.

I made this collage birthday card to enter in Mo's Challenge #147 - "Anything Goes w/Mo Image".

This is how I made the card;

(1.) I started with a blank kraft greeting card that measures 5" by 6 1/2". I chose a coordinated piece of patterned cardstock for the background.

(2.) I used the Cuddlebug "Happy Birthday" folder to dry emboss the shiny silver-tone cardstock with festive birthday words.

(3.) I chose the digital stamp "Bella Carrying the Cake" from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop. I colored the image with Copic sketch markers and toned down the white background with pink Pebbles chalk.

(4.) I mounted the image on black cardstock and layered a piece of cardboard and a strip of burlap under it.

(5.) I embellished the card with three flowers that I punched out of cork.

We're Going Retro

It has been over a month since I have participated in one of Mo's Digital Pencil Challenges.  This week the theme is "We're Going Retro".  Next week my mother will celebrate her 81st birthday, so this is the card that I made to send her.

(1)  The base of the card is kraft cardstock.
(2) The digital stamp image is "Wonderful Day" from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils. I used "Old Paper" distress ink for the background.
(3) The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is also a digital stamp from Mo's "Wonderful Day" package.
(4) I used ColorCore Cardstock from the "Nostalgia" collection for the background. I chose the colors coral and olive green. I used a Martha Stewart Punch on the edges and sanded the cardstock to distress it.
(5) The background "vintage script" patterned paper is from a Recollections embellishment package.
(5) I stitched around the image on the green cardstock with yellow thread.
(6) I embellished the card with mauve and brown paper flowers and feau pearls.

I just want to wish my mother a very happy birthday.  I think she will like this retro card.
