Kitten and Tulips Mothers Day Card

Click on the image to enlarge it.
I chose this image of a kitten and a vase of tulips for my first Mothers Day card for 2019. This is card number one of five cards that I want to make for friends and loved ones.

This is how I made the card;

I started with a blank white cardstock card that measures 5" by 6 1/2".

The background is Digital Watercolor Yellow Tulips Seamless Paper Pack from Etsy. I printed the digital paper on white cardstock with my HP printer and HP Instant Ink. I never have to worry about running out of printer ink with the Instant Ink program.

I chose the digital stamp "Boo and Tulips" to feature on this card. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers and Promarkers. I printed the image a second time on yellow dotted cardstock and cut out the vase and glued it on the card (paper piecing).

I cropped the corners of the image and glued it onto a piece of grey cardstock. I completed the card by tying a piece of white ribbon around it.

I am entering this card in the following challenges;

Handmade Fathers Day Card 2015

I made this Fathers Day card with a rubber stamp and paper piecing.

These are the supplies I used:
Blank 5" by 7" kraft cardstock card
Blonde wood grain patterned paper
Green patterned paper (My Mind's Eye Paper Pad).
A vintage Scafa-Tornabene litho print (1982)
"Dad's Truck" rubber stamp (PrintWorks Collection)
Aluminum foil
Red Stickles glitter glue
A barbeque grill sticker (Jolees)
Tim Holtz sentiment ("Small Talk")

This is how I made the card:
I attached the wood-grain patterned paper to the blank kraft card. I rounded the corners with a corner rounder.

I took the rubber stamp "Dad's Truck" and used a VersaMark Watermark stamp pad to stamp the truck image on a piece of wood-grain paper two times. The first time I stamped with the wood-grain vertical and the second time I stamped with the wood-grain horizontal.

I heat embossed both images with black embossing powder. I cut out the truck and cut out the window. I glued a piece of cellophane behind the window to look like glass.

I used light-weight foil to cover the bumper and the side mirrors of the truck.

I used red Stickles glitter glue for the tail lights.

I cut the tailgate out from the second image that I heat embossed (the wood-grain is horizontal). I used glue dots along the bottom edge to attach it to the truck and then foam squares at the top to make it look three-dimensional.

I put a barbeque pit sticker in the back of the truck.

I mounted the truck on the litho print that features a pretty country scene. I framed the print with the green print paper from My Mind's Eye and attached it to the card.

I chose the sentiment "hold tight, and pretend it's a plan" .

Big Guy Grilling

The weather is heating up and it is time to get the grill out and do some cooking. This week the theme for Mo's Digital Challenge is "Challenge #137 - Weather Related." The card must have to do with the weather/outdoors and feature a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.

This is how I made the card;
(1.) The base is a textured white Avery card that measures 5 1/2" by 8 1/2". I really like this larger size.
(2.) The background is patterned cardstock from Recollections. This lovely cardstock came from a paper pad called "Stitch in Time". I found this pad of scrap booking paper at Michael's on the 70% Off shelf.
(3.) I used the digital image "Big Guy Grilling" from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop. This was my first attempt at paper piecing. I printed out the image on a piece of white Strathmore art paper and then printed the image on a piece of polka dot patterned paper. I cut out the shirt from the red dotted paper and glued it onto the image on the drawing paper. I colored the rest of the image with Copic sketch markers. I used a black gel pen to put the faux stitching around the image and mounted it to a piece of brown kraft paper.
(4.) I embellished the card with four dark blue butterflies that I made with a Martha Stewart punch, cardstock and Stickles glitter glue.
