Handmade Birthday Girl Card

July is a wonderful time to celebrate a birthday! I made this card and it has already been delivered to a special birthday girl.

I chose the digital stamp/sentiment "Birthday Girl" from Mo's Digital Pencil to feature on this card.

I printed the image and sentiment on white cardstock using my HP Photo Printer and Instant Ink.

I hand-colored the image with Copic Sketch markers and Winsor & Newton Promarkers/Brush markers. I love to mix and match my alcohol markers. I used a gold gel pen to color the crown and fill in the center of the flowers.

I cut out the image using a rectangular die with my die cutting machine. I framed the image with a piece of black cardstock. I used a die-cut corner embellishment in the lower right corner of the image.

I chose Glam Glitter Polka (The Paper Studio) for the background paper. I was very happy to find a pack of this paper on clearance at Hobby Lobby. The paper is very glittery but has a smooth surface, so it is easy to glue other paper to it.

I made a strip of scalloped white cardstock and put a strip of black cardstock down the center. I attached this to the center of the card. I finished the card with a colorful stitched banner from my stash.

I entered this card in the following challenges;
Bitten by the Bug 2: Banners Everywhere Challenge
Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #CIC474
Get Creative Challenges #82
Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #281

Big Present Handmade Birthday Card

Today I made a handmade birthday card for my mother.
She will be celebrating her 83rd birthday card this Sunday.

I will be entering this card in Mo's Anything Goes Challenge. The only requirement is to use an image from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop

This is how I made the card:
(1.) I started with a blank kraft card that measures 4" by 5 1/2".

(2.) I used one sheet of patterned paper and a variety of Nestabilities Dies to make the background.

(3.) I chose the digital stamp "Big Present (Girl)". I colored the large present with Prismacolor pencils and a blender pen. I colored the girl with Copic Sketch markers.

(4.) I cut out the image and attached it to a piece of die-cut black cardstock.

(5.) I finished the card with a Jolee gold crown sticker.
