I plan to read and review 30 Kindle books for kids during the month of January.
Today, I read "Benny's Boogers" by Xavier Finkley. This book was written for children 6 months old to 3 years old.
About the Author
Xavier Finkley is an award winning children's book author from Old Saybrook,
Connecticut. Xavier works with a team of illustrators that offer a wide variety
of artistic styles. Mr. Finkley's first two Kindle books "Epic Tails" and "If Your Brother
Stinks..." are both Amazon best sellers in the Baby-3 book category.
Benny Is Sick
Benny is sick in bed with the flu. He has boogers and a nose full of snot. His mom gives him some medicine and tucks him in for the night. Suddenly, Benny feels a sneeze coming on. The tissue box is empty so the snot...and boogers...go all over his sweater. His mother cleans him up and he is ready to go to sleep. Benny feels much better in the morning and is ready to face a new day.
My Thoughts
Authors are now writing picture books for the Kindle that are appropriate for babies and toddlers. The Kindle Fire allows colored illustrations to be viewed on the screen. A parent can read a bedtime story to a child from their ereader instead of a book.
"Benny's Boogers" is a realistic, colorful, rhyming story that youngsters will relate to. Most children know how it feels to be sick. They also know what boogers are. This might not be a topic that adults enjoy reading about, but kids will love it.
This ebook has 15 pages (not including the cover). Each page consists of a color illustration and two lines of text. The rhyming text has a natural flow and the color illustrations are very good at complimenting the text. This book is a good fit for the Kindle...the formatting looks very professional.
I like this ebook and I think you will enjoy sharing it with the children in your life. I have a hunch that children will love this "booger book"....that is just the way kids are!!!
FYI ~ I ordered this ebook from Amazon.Com when it was offered as a free digital download. Please check the price before ordering.
